Dr. Rakesh Bhandari
Dr. Rakesh Bhandari is the Director of Centre for Indic Studies, Indus University. At CIS he is responsible for organizing resources and networking individuals and institutions with the activities of the Centre.
He is a Fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Diplomat in American Board of Anesthesiology. He is the founding member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of India (AOPA India), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. He is also a delegate to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Montreal, Canada, 2002. He has been awarded the prestigious Service Award at the World Assembly of International Aircraft and Pilots Associations (IAOPA), Edinburgh, Scotland, 2003. In his wide-ranging travels he has keenly observed native cultures and ecology and the impact of modernization and colonization on them. Conscious of his duty towards society, he has been active in philanthropic ventures.
